Prayer Requests – October

Campers
Ever always — please be in prayer for the many, many children that through the ministry of Del-Haven have heard the truth of the gospel of the glory of the Lord Jesus Christ. You who attended our banquet — received our traditional bookmarks which have the names of the ones who went through our camp program just this last year. Once again, not only pray for that child — but if you would like to send them a card for the holidays that are coming up — just send it to us and we will forward it on unto them. This sort of a loving touch from one of you — through Del-Haven — means a great deal unto the children. Lift them up to the Lord — commending them unto His love and protective care over their lives. We love and thank you.

Staff
Please do not forget to be in constant prayer for our staff. The spiritual warfare that we are ever engaged in with the evil one and this world is going to gain in intensity after a time of ministry — make no mistake about it! Our Lord is our strength — our Rock — and our tower of refuge. These special servants of the Lord need our prayers that they be preserved and delivered from the onslaught of satanic attack. And, pray that if it be the Lord’s will — He will send them safely back to us next year, too.

Fall Time at Camp Del-Haven

At this time of year the campground begins to reflect the aura of a majestic beauty that is simply breath taking! The changing colors of the leaves — the cooling temperatures of the evening — bring in a season and a time for us to meditate and to ruminate what our Lord has done in His ministry here at Camp Del-Haven. We have so very much to thankful for! For over 60 years — He has sustained us — and He continues to do so. Praise His Name!

Our banquet this last month was truly blessed by the Lord. We had many first hand reports from the front lines through our staff and board members. They brought forward current news of our ongoing needs — and some of the experiences and happenings of this last summer. We were especially glad to be able to welcome some of you who came — who have been prayerfully supporting us from our beginning — but have never (until now) been to one of our annual banquets. Thank you for coming! You don’t know what an encouragement to us it really is that you did so. And, thank you for your continuing prayerful support.

Annual Fall Banquet – Sept. 28th

Our annual fall banquet is scheduled for Saturday, September 28th from 11:45 to 2:30 Mark your calendars and definitely plan to be there! This event will take place at Pleasant Grove Bible Church. The church is located at: 4916 Lee’s Summit Rd., Kansas City, MO.

So — please mark this date — and please make it a point to be there! If you have any questions at all — you can call 816-690-8465 We’ll see you there!

Prayer Requests – August

Please continue to pray with us for the boys and girls who attended camp this summer. As they begin their new school year they will undoubtedly face many challenges. May they face them this year with a new found trust in their Lord and Savior and learn to call on Him to help meet all their needs and be their hope in this world. Also, please pray for our staff. There were about 25 different staff members who helped in our summer sessions. Many of these staff members are in high school and college and face challenges of their own.

As always, please be in prayer with us that the Lord will continue to sustain the work of Del-Haven as we strive to proclaim the Gospel of the Glory of Christ to all who the Lord gives us the privilege to minister to, whether campers, parents, staff members, supporters, etc.

Prayer Requests – July

Our first two camp sessions turned out to be real blessings. The Lord continues to send to us wonderful supplies of every kind through Pastor and Mrs. John Jones of Faith In Christ Fellowship Church in Oak Grove, MO. They are such a rich blessing of encouragement — and, of provision! Please pray for them and their ministry.

Remember, dear friends — to be in continual prayer for our staff — and the children that God draws and directs into our camp sessions. The devil is, indeed, a defeated foe — but not yet totally removed from the battlefield. God is in sovereign control of all things — and our prayers are used in His perfect way to accomplish His perfect will — Praise His Name! One little eleven year old girl named, Michelle — around the campfire of last week’s camp — said that her favorite thing at camp were the verses of scripture that she memorized! She has been coming to Del-Haven for years…and this is the Spirit led spontaneous testimony — of her heart. This is so precious when you take into consideration what the Word from 2Th.2:10 describes of all the lost souls: “because they received not — the love of the truth — that they might be saved!”

Please, dear ones — continue to prayerfully combat with us — the darkness of this world — by assisting us in the “holding forth of the word of life”– unto these dear children. Thank you for being there — and — we love you!

The girls lined up and sang camp songs while waiting to be picked up in the city at the end of their camp session. They were singing about God’s Everlasting Love . . . and they were not being quiet about it!

S W I M M I N G !

Well, the 2013 Del-Haven camp season — truly has started off with a real bang! We were faced with the foreboding situation of having camp — without a swimming pool. We had a severe tear in our liner — as all of you who get our newsletter knew. Our great God — who hears and answers our prayers — moved through you all — making it possible for us to be able to buy a new one. Then came the awesome task of installing it. With little to no experience of performing this task — we naturally sought the Lord’s direction every step of the way. Hence — we got it installed — on Saturday around noon between the first and second scheduled camp sessions.

Next, we had to fill up the new, but still empty pool. This means we needed 36,000 gallons of water! Back in the old days we used to have all our water trucked in — but, that was then, and this was now. Our water man is no longer with us — and every other avenue of supply — diligently searched out — seemed to come up short. Of course, we had a couple of garden hoses running all the time since we got the new liner in place — but the task seemed to be just too much for this slow method to fill up a swimming pool by the noon launch of the next camp on Monday! So, we went back to our Lord in prayer. The Lord heard — and again answered our prayers! We can’t really explain how the pool ended up filled and ready to us by noon on Monday — but, we Praise the Name of our Lord for His intervention! And, we thank you — for all your prayers and special financial provisions! You, too, are a continual answer to our prayers — for your prompt response in helping to meet our needs. This is true love exhibited in spirit and in truth!
